The platform update
Interroll’s LogiMAT statement of 25 March 2026 described an integrated material-flow ecosystem using decentralized control and layout/flow configuration. Its annual report identifies MCP PLAY’s debut in 2025 and discusses moving beyond a one-package-per-zone constraint.
The March statement continues that platform story. It is not evidence that the control concept was first invented in October 2026, nor that every older conveyor can adopt it through a software change alone.
Why the control boundary matters
Our reading is that conveyor capability is increasingly described through the interaction of mechanics and flow configuration. A roller line may merge, divert or wait for another machine, so a motor and frame specification alone does not describe the route’s operating behaviour.
The useful comparison asks which functions are configured locally, which remain with a wider controls system and what information crosses the boundary. That makes the intended operating method visible before a particular combination of conveyor hardware and automation is ordered.
A route-specific demonstration is the test
For a new route, the important evidence is a demonstration tied to the actual products, downstream pauses and agreed restart sequence. For an upgrade, the existing drives, interfaces and supported versions need to be identified before the replacement scope is fixed.
The manufacturer’s throughput and energy claims are not adopted here as guarantees for a different installation. Retaining the accepted configuration and recovery procedure helps the operating team understand the selected architecture after commissioning. The photographs show conveyor hardware, not MCP PLAY software or a verified customer project.
