State the process that follows the stop
A workpiece pallet reaching an assembly station may need to wait, enter a process position and present its fixture to a tool. Those are separate steps in the operating sequence. Start the enquiry with the operation to be performed and the required relationship between the fixture and the process equipment.
Use workpiece pallet or assembly pallet explicitly in the record. These fixtures should not be confused with shipping pallets on a warehouse conveyor. Provide the actual pallet and fixture drawings, the equipment arrangement and the intended process sequence.
Identify the locating mechanism and its reference
FlexLink's locating-module documentation describes a pre-stop and a process position, with a mechanism that locates the pallet for work. Dorner's Lift & Locate information also treats the locating function as a specific module. These examples help distinguish transporting a pallet from presenting it at a process station.
Ask the proposed supplier to show the locating reference on its drawing and explain which pallet features the module uses. Request the conditions attached to any quoted positional performance. A number for a named module is not automatically the positional result of the complete fixture, workpiece and tool arrangement.
Review the mounting and control boundaries
Show how the process equipment and the conveyor station are supported. Have the responsible designers identify the interfaces and the operating forces relevant to their review. Confirm the proposed module's supported configuration instead of assuming that an existing conveyor frame accepts every locating application.
Write the intended sequence in plain steps: pallet arrives, station availability is established, pallet is admitted, locating is confirmed, the process runs and release is requested. Ask the integrator to identify the required signals and responsibility for them. This is a sequence brief, not a replacement for the system's engineered control design.
Check what comes in the module package
FlexLink's cited documentation lists included and excluded items, illustrating why a module price may leave integration work outside the package. Ask for the actual supplied parts, utilities, sensors, cables, supports and applicable instructions to be identified in the quotation.
Agree a demonstration with the representative pallet, fixture and operation. Keep its scope and approved drawings with the asset. The original concept diagrams show stop, locate and process as distinct functions, without claiming a universal positioning tolerance or reproducing a manufacturer's mechanism.
Manufacturer announcements and our analysis are distinguished. Product claims require verification for the specific application.
