The sidewall becomes a conveying interface

A wedge conveyor can move products between levels using two facing conveyor tracks. FlexLink explains that its operating principle applies pressure to the product sides, which must withstand it. The package surface is therefore part of the conveying interface, not merely a label or appearance detail.

Show the supplier where the product can be contacted and describe its condition at this stage of production. An empty container, a filled container and the final packed product are different enquiry cases if the line handles them differently. Identify the actual case instead of sending only a finished-product photograph.

FlexLink also notes that surface condition affects its wedge application, including the risk of slippage with wet objects. Record that condition as it reaches the conveyor, rather than assuming a dry sample represents the production line.

Test the presentation as well as the lift

Dorner's FlexMove wedge information describes opposing conveyors with gripper chain and highlights the product spacing needed through the vertical transition. That connects the lift to its infeed. Show how products arrive, how they are separated and what the next conveyor expects at discharge.

For the application review, propose samples covering relevant package formats and sidewall conditions, then agree the set with the supplier. Include labels, closures or other features only where they are present at this process stage. Ask what contact effects and product movement will be observed during the demonstration.

A successful lift of one rigid sample does not answer how another format is presented or handed over. Keep the represented cases and any untested conditions visible in the demonstration record.

Keep the selected handling arrangement identifiable

Request the chain and gripper reference, format arrangement, utilities and applicable instructions for the offered configuration. Ask who supplies product-spacing and transition equipment and who coordinates those interfaces. Compare the complete lifting duty rather than a height and a catalogue speed.

The original concept drawings show opposing contact surfaces and the entry-to-exit relationship. They do not specify gripping force, a permitted package deformation or a universal operating speed. The useful result is a defined handling arrangement checked against the package as it actually appears on the line.
